forty-five years ago today martin luther king jr. delivered what would become one of the most celebrated speeches in american history. a talented orator, it was his custom to improvise most of his messages. because of the significance of the march on washington, king manuscripted and revised the speech he was to deliver. many of these revisions are available as public record.

– alan, last night, being absolutely ridiculous
today started off weird when i opened the door on my dog’s foot and made his little paw bleed. he’s just been so adorable lately and he’s been sweetening me up by only obeying me, and just when we’re really falling in love with each other then i go and do something terrible like that. the worst part is the door i hit him with was the door to the veternarian’s office....
if i want to take my son home for Christmas it will be an extra $200. wowzers.

registering my car in missouri
alot has been made of my refusal to register my car in missiouri. i’ll admit, i’m terrible at remembering to do any errand of this kind. however, i think i’ve endured more than my fair share of scorn for this situation.
i’m currently attempting to register the car, but it’s every bit as difficult as i’ve claimed. here’s why:

am i supposed to be excited about this? i can’t tell if i am or not. i mostly just wish she would write more harry potter books. i think i’m going to reread the seventh book in honor of my birthday.
